Friday favorites: I just want to celebrate!

I received such a warm response to Tuesday’s blog about celebrating what’s right with us that I’ve decided to carry that theme through today’s Friday’s Favorites.

I have much to celebrate this week, starting with Mother Nature’s startling display and eyes with which to see it. Of course, I am also grateful to have this lovely cabin escape.

Mother Nature was kind enough to continue the cloud art on our way home. I am grateful for Larry’s willingness to drive us safely home, so I can sit back and enjoy the show.

I’m celebrating the new fall nail colors and weather nice enough to stand barefoot in the leaves. I am also so grateful for healthy feet and legs to take me everywhere I want to go!

I’m celebrating having the best husband in the world, as demonstrated in part by his willingness to get my oil changed and my vehicle washed (believe me, it needed it!). I am extremely grateful for Larry, his love, and all he does for me.

And, of course, I continue to celebrate all things pumpkin. This week’s pumpkin tasting: pumpkin bread from Kneaders Bakery. I am grateful for plentiful food to eat, the ability to taste, and a healthy body with no food allergies!

That’s it for me. What are you celebrating this week?

  1. We picked all the pears from our pear tree. Shared them with our in laws and my son and grandchildren. We still have plenty left over. 4 jars canned, one pear pie and one pear cake!

    1. That sounds fabulous. I’ve never had pear pie before, but I bet I would like it. I recently tried pear and blue cheese soup, just because it sounded interesting. It was delicious! Have a fabulous weekend!

  2. Really nice way to think about your week. I felt a bit unproductive this week until I started thinking about it this way. I needed to remember I love the fall with its crisp cool weather and fall ? leaves. We are making progress in settling into our new downsized house. I have picked up real-life again…not just the moving project. Ok, no pictures for each element, but a wonderful way to end my week.

    1. Moving is such a monumental task. I feel for you, and I’m glad that you were able to reflect on your mini-celebrations. Have a wonderful weekend and good luck with the settling in!

  3. I’m celebrating that starting next week I’m going to have more time to do what I want to do, instead of doing what I’m supposed to do. Not that I don’t want to do many of the things that I’m supposed to do, because I do. No, what I meant was I’m going to be more self-directed in my pursuits. And this thrills me to no end. My free spirit is in need of some freedom.

  4. I’m grateful to Mother Nature for finally breaking our heat spell (temps in the 90s for several days). Cooler temps make me want to go outside and enjoy the fall… my favorite season!

  5. Christie, I can see why you would want to continue this theme and glad you did! Very uplifting and positive! Love your pedicure with the autumn leaf backdrop! We’re having majorly un-Fall-like weather this last week here in California, although a few brave trees have started to turn colors!

  6. I’m celebrating inspiring blog posts (like this one, and ‘We are the World Blogfest’) that overflow with positivity and gratitude. This is such a welcomed change to so much ‘negative news’ around us. Thank you for sharing this!

  7. I agree with Donna! There is so much negativity in the world, that this delightful post made me approach the day, and hopefully many more to come, with an eye toward what a wonderful journey we have on the voyage, and how fortunate we are in so many, many ways! Thanks for an uplifting post!
