I have a confession to make

I eat dessert every night.

I have a confession to make. Well, actually I have several. Then I hope you’ll return the favor. I thought it might be a fun way to get to know each other better. They say confession is good for the soul, right?

  1. I stole this idea from Hungry Runner Girl. I’m obsessed with her blog and a little jealous of the number of followers she has and how much they interact with her. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I hope she’ll take it as a compliment.
  2. I never fill up my gas tank until the warning light comes on. Most times, Larry is kind enough to fill it for me before it gets to that point. He has a hard time looking at the gauge once it’s below half.
  3. I eat dessert every night. I used to tell myself I wasn’t going to and then spend the evening justifying why it was okay if I did. Now I’ve just accepted that about myself. I have a demanding sweet tooth. That t-shirt that says, “I run because I like cookies (or cupcakes or pie), that’s my truth.
  4. I’ve never been to Disneyland. Amusement parks aren’t really my thing, and I don’t have a burning desire go—but sometimes I think I should just to put an end to the shocked faces I get when I say I’ve never been.
  5. I haven’t missed an episode of Survivor since the very first one. I imagine myself there kicking butt, but I wouldn’t last a day without cold, clean water and a flush toilet. And the bugs, snakes, and rodents! Not happening.
  6. I’ve eaten half a bag of tortilla chips—by myself—in one sitting—more than once. I know better than to eat them straight from the bag, but every once in a while I rebel and do it anyway. They taste better that way.
  7. I love words, especially when they are arranged such a way that they sound beautiful to the ear and inspire the heart and mind. “There is something about words. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, they take you prisoner. Wind themselves around your limbs like spider silk, and when you are so enthralled you cannot move, they pierce your skin, enter your blood, numb your thoughts. Inside you they work their magic.” ~ Diane Setterfield, The Thirteenth Tale
  8. I weigh myself every morning before brushing my teeth—because you know that extra ounce of water is going to weigh something!
  9. I want to be Judge Judy when I grow up—call people on their crap, say things like, “This is my playground.” “Ridiculous!” “Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.” I want to use “kerfuffle” in everyday conversation.
  10. I really, REALLY want you to comment on my blog with some confessions of your own. PLEASE! Ready, set, go!

  1. I follow hungry runner girl too! And I thought I knew you….after all these confessions I’m not sure. 😉

A few of my own: I think if I eat broken chips, nuts or cookies there are less calories in them so that’s what I do. A lot of little pieces.

I love sleep and will often take short naps, but always feel a little embarrassed about it.

I know tanning is bad for me and doesn’t really make me younger, healthier or prettier but I secretly think it does. So I pretend if I wear sunscreen it’s ok.

No shocker here but I love your blog and you!

    1. Thanks for sharing Cindy. I think you were the one that turned me on to Hungry Runner Girl. In case you’re wondering, food eaten off of someone else’s plate or taking one more bite straight from the serving dish also contains fewer calories!

  2. Every once in a while on my days off, I will wake up with Kevin and then after we eat breakfast and he heads to work, I lay back down and sleep for up to 2 extra hours! I guess I need it sometimes, but I always feel a bit guilty being unproductive during that time when he’s hard at work.

    1. There’s something deliciously decadent about going back to sleep. Sometimes when I wake up early on a weekend and realize I can go back to sleep, that’s the best couple of hours!

  3. I am a chocoholic. I have to have it every day. I can be completely over stuffed from a meal and I can still make room for it. I will hide it and sneak it when no one is looking. Once I ate an entire bag of tootsie rolls in one sitting. I know it’s not healthy and I’m even embarrassed but it makes me feel happy.

  4. I love this idea!

Confession 1: I love Hungry Runner Girl too! I’ve been reading her blog since her third post. I cried when she got divorced (I had just had Annie, so I blame hormones) and am so happy she’s getting married again. I actually think she and I would be BFFs in real life. 🙂

Confession 2: I hate making my bed and rarely ever do. I’m a total fanatic about a clean and organized house but never make my bed.

Confession 3: I will totally choose dessert over healthy food if push comes to shove in the calorie count.

    1. Thanks for sharing Ann. It sounds like we have more in common than I knew. 1) I just started following HRG this year, but I’m so obsessed, I’m reading through her earlier posts now. 2) Lucky for me, Larry makes our bed every day, or it probably wouldn’t get done either. 3) Of course!

  5. Ah, great post! I just left my answers over on your post: A Getting To Know You Give-away . I misunderstood, I thought you were answering the same questions as you listed over on that post. Oh well, duh me 🙂 I think I’ll do a post like this. Thanks for the inspiration!

  6. Survivor: I would LOVE doing the challenges! But the drama/strategy part would get to me.
Goals: I want to be a world traveler when I grow up.
Fears: I am afraid to be the center of attention. And yet I long to be!

    I enjoyed reading about you!
