Intrepid possibilities and what’s been on my calendar in February

“When nothing is sure, everything is possible.” ~ Margaret Drabble

Flowers blooming in the snow.

As you may recall, I chose INTREPID and POSSIBILITIES as my 2025 Words of the Year. These two words together describe my intention for the year.

One way of putting that intention into action…and sharing what’s been on my calendar (#WBOYC)…is my Winter Possibilities List. With that in mind, I’d like to share a quick update on what’s happening with my that.

Winter Possibilities List

1. Complete the Orangetheory Transformation Challenge.

I’m getting close on this one. There are about two weeks left in the challenge. I have completed at least three Orangetheory workouts per week, including at least one strength class (usually two or three).

I am also meeting my goals to consume a minimum of 130 grams of protein five days a week or more. At the end of the challenge, I will do a follow-up body scan. Here’s hoping for positive changes in my body composition!

2. Complete the CVG Movement Challenge.

Mission accomplished! I completed each daily challenge without exception. Notice the improvement in my fitness test from beginning to end.

3. Go to Los Angeles and attend a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

We postponed this event due to the Los Angeles fires. We are looking at April now, so this will be a Spring Possibility.

4. Sign up at least one new coaching client.

Mission accomplished!

5. Get a monthly massage.

January’s and February’s massages were heavenly. Time to book March’s.

6. Plan an activity centered around each of my senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch).

The Senses Possibility Lists were created in January. Since then, I have completed four sight activities, three hearing activities, five smell activities, five taste activities, and six touch activities.

A delight for the eyes, nose, and mouth.

Gotta love the pop of color in the CVG leggings in concert with the Valentine nail art…a treat for the eyes.

7. Complete the BlogAid SEO course.

This course has been postponed and replaced with a focus on learning more about Medium and Substack.

8. Donate blood.

Mission accomplished last month.

9. Complete the mindbodygreen Functional Nutrition course.

In progress. I have completed nine of 33 modules. I am learning quite a lot, some of which I will share in future blog posts.

10. Take a golf lesson with my husband.

Not yet started. The weather is warming up, so I hope to do this soon.

11. Explore my community by visiting someplace or attending an event that is new to me.

I haven’t yet made it to the local historical museum I mentioned last month, but hope to do so soon. I did visit the local StretchLab studio, which I loved! I will share more about that experience in an upcoming post.

12. Start scanning physical photos for digital storage.

I added this item since I shared my original Winter Possibilities list, but I have not yet started.

Your turn

That just about covers what’s been on my calendar in February…at least those items for which I actually took photos. We did spend time with family and friends, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but failed to document.

What about you?

  1. What have you been up to in February?
  2. Any fun plans for March?
  3. What else is on your mind? Anything at all; I just love to hear from you.

  1. If you unlock the key to how to make Substack workable, I’d love to know it. I’ve been there for over a year & a half but haven’t done a thing on it. I comment on some posts by bloggers who have moved their blogs there, but even doing that is problematic. I can’t get a feel for what it’s about, who I’d be appealing to if I started a blog there. 🤷‍♀️

    1. I’m with you on Substack, Ally. I have also created an account and am following some bloggers who made the move there, but I have not posted anything. I want to figure out how…or if…Substack would fit in with what I’m already doing or if it’s the wave of the future. Anyway, I missed the live session with BlogAid, but because I have a membership there I can watch the replay at my leisure, so that’s my plan. We’ll see where it goes.

  2. What a great list Christie – you are going so well with a wide range of activities on your list! The StretchLab sounds interesting! You have reminded me to book a massage for this month.

    1. I am loving the StretchLab, Debbie. I hope to do a blog post on my experience soon. Is there anything similar where you live? And, yes, I hope you got that massage booked!

  3. I can’t believe the change in your numbers for that CVG Movement challenge. I don’t know that I could do even one burpee! But, there’s always got to be a starting point. Is this a class you signed up for, or is it just something you found online? I do get monthly facials, but I really would love to have a full body massage. Maybe, I can “suggest” that to my husband for Mother’s Day!

    1. That’s crazy, isn’t it Marsha. Of course, I do have to figure in that I may have been more motivated in the final test, and I should clarify that I did modified burpees using a bench. If I go all the way to the ground and back up too quickly and too many times, I get lightheaded. This was an online challenge, so not an live class. A massage sounds like a lovely Mother’s Day gift, and if your husband is like mine, he will appreciate the suggestion, so he doesn’t have to guess!

  4. You’ve achieved so much this month Christie, and it sounds like retirement agrees with you. I love the Senses possibility list. I also love the background in the photo of you with your dog.

    1. Retirement definitely agrees with me, Jen. I find that being able to retire early shows up on my gratitude list quite often. That is a beautiful trail and so close to our house, we walk there often. Another thing to be grateful for!

  5. Looks like you had a great February Christie. Congrats on all your achievements. I’m looking forward to a trip with a friend and spring arrival in March.

  6. I loved all the pictures that went with your senses possibility list. It’s so easy to take our senses for granted, but can be such an uplifting experience if we pay attention to them.
I don’t have any big plans in March, but I am looking forward to celebrating some of my grandchildren’s birthdays. And I’m anticipating spring!

  7. You have made great progress on your possibilities for the season. I just love the idea of the sensory experiences. My goodness, that breakfast/brunch looks so good. I had something called Moroccan toast yesterday at a new to us restaurant and it looked very similar. A treat for all the senses. And bravo on all of the coursework you have completed. You are very dedicated and focused.

Thanks for the reminder to call about donating blood. I had wanted to donate platelets but have heard from a couple of folks that it isn’t the best idea for people of a certain age. So, I think I better pass on platelets and just stick to donating blood. Good for you to do that!!

Loved your leggings and your Valentine-themed nails. I got my polish out today but didn’t make time to give myself a mani.

We have an unopened puzzle we need to get after over here. Your puzzle is pretty enough to frame. Beautiful mountains.

    1. Thank you for the encouraging words, Leslie. I’ve never donated platelets. I worry about how long it takes…that I’ll get anxious or restless. Blood donation works well for me. I was gifted some beautiful puzzles for Christmas and am just starting another one.

  8. In February, I moved home. Despite having been here for 3 weeks, we’re a long way from settled in and there are boxes still to unpack and furniture still to move. A worrying discovery is that Himself is struggling more physically that I was aware, and I suspect he’s been fooling himself about too. It’s made the whole process a lot tougher and a lot slower. But we’ll get there.

I’m on Substack now but have yet to really get to grips with how to use it most effectively. For now, I’m just trying to build a regular writing practice there. Not yet successful, but progress is being made.

Having uncovered boxes & boxes of photos, I can see myself adding the final item on your list to my list too!

Nice work on building your client base – slow by steady does the trick.

    1. Moving is such a big venture, Debs. I imagine it will take a while to get fully settled in. And you’re right, it doesn’t get any easier with age.

I’ve created a Substack account as well, but you’re a step ahead of me, in that I have written anything there. I’m still trying to figure out how it might fit in with what I am already doing.

      Thanks for the encouraging words!

  9. I love this senses challenge. I might think about some of those for the Wednesday club. I love the heart leggings. I got a heart dress for Valentine’s day…we might be getting sentimental with age! Or cheesy…ha!

    1. Whether we call it sentimental or cheesy…I’ll own it! The senses challenge has been fun, especially when focusing on some of my senses that get less love from me in general. I’m becoming more rounded for sure.
