Thank you notes: little bits of gratitude from December 2021

It’s easy to get so caught up in the hustle of life that we forget to appreciate the small miracles that happen every day. I created the monthly Thank You Notes post to help me relive the happy moments, savor the gratitude, and share them with you. I hope they also inspire you to think about what you have to be grateful for and share them with us.

Thank you EMI Health team…

…for another wonderful year together. You truly are a superstar team! And thank you for the holiday brunch, even on a super snowy day. Speaking of which…

Thank you Larry…

…for clearing the driveway and walks of 13 inches of heavy, wet snow. Thank you Mother Nature for providing much-needed water. It was truly beautiful, if somewhat inconvenient.

Thank you Jenny…

…for the delicious and beautiful Christmas cookie. You know seeing this first thing in the morning made my day!

Thank you Heidi and Jimmie…

Two men and a lady at a Christmas party.

…for hosting the annual Christmas Eve party. Mom would be so happy to see us continuing her holiday tradition. Thank you Mom for leaving us with such a strong family connection. We missed you and Bryan, but we felt your presence with us.

Thank you family…

…for sharing your Christmas Day with us (those pictured here and those who came after I put the camera away). Whatever struggles we’ve faced this year are insignificant when compared to the deep gratitude and love I feel for each of you. Family is everything to me. How did I get so lucky as to have such a great one?

Your turn

That was my holiday version of Thank You Notes. What are you grateful for this month? I’d love to hear about what is making you smile today.

November is here. In a few short weeks, many of us in the United States will be celebrating Thanksgiving…that one day of the year set aside for focusing on the many blessings in our lives. Of course, giving thanks does not have to be confined to one day. I plan to spend the entire month…

  1. My thank you notes today: Thank you to the doctors that “fixed” Mark and I. Thank you to our bodies by doing their part and healing. Thank you to to all of our friends and family that supported us with meals, snow shoveling and many other acts of kindness and love. ❤️ Happy New Year sis! I love you.

    1. It really is amazing what our bodies can do with a little help from science and doctors. I’m happy to hear that everyone is healing and that you’ve had such great support. Happy New Year to you to! XO

  2. Like Donna said, there is so much to be thankful for. Right now, I am most thankful for the rain we’ve been having lately. SoCal has been dry for so long, it’s nice to see my plants doing happy dances (even the succulents love rain!). Best wishes for a happy, healthy 2022, Christie!

    1. I’m happy for the moisture we’ve received as well–though it’s snow here. I do notice how well our Southern Utah plants do after a little rain. I’m looking forward to getting down there to check on them in person. Thank you for the well wishes and happy New Year to you, Pat!

  3. Wishing you a very Happy New Year!

And OMG, that snow! We’re in the dry season here, which is actually lovely. Higher than average temperatures as well, which make for an unusual feel to the holidays for us. But I’m enjoying the warm sunny days, which are so different than the gray skies we had in Ohio.

    1. Hello Pat. I’m glad to hear you are enjoying the warmth and sun. We are getting more snow here. So far not as much as that last storm. Just enough to keep things cold and slick. I am grateful that it is keeping the yucky inversion away though. Happy New Year to you too!

  4. Hi Christie, lovely words of gratitude. I’ve had a lovely time over Christmas with my family, we’ve not been able to get together for some time so it was well overdue!
That’s a lot of snow you’e had, we are sweltering here in summer temps but it’s so nice after a wet spring. All the best for 2022. xx
