My last two posts have been pretty lengthy monologues, so I’m going to switch it up this week. It’s your turn to do the “talking.”

What is your favorite winter holiday tradition? I’m not being PC here by not specifying Christmas; I want to leave the door open for all possibilities. Maybe you’re pretty casual about Christmas, but go all out on New Year’s Eve. So go ahead, pick one—Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, New Year’s, Other. What’s a beloved tradition that was passed on to you or one you’d like to start and pass on to your posterity?

  1. Mom’s Christmas Eve party with all of the extended family has to be the highlight of Christmas, but I love the whole season. The baking and lights and music. I’m very traditional.

New Years Eve is also something I look forward to. We don’t do anything big, just eat yummy finger foods and watch movies until midnight. Then we congratulate each other on a year accomplished and go to bed. It’s simple but a nice way to wind down after a busy holiday season.
