These are a few of my favorite things

I’m feeling extra generous this week, so I thought I’d share a few of my favorite things with you.

Well, not like sending-you-products generous…just letting-you-know-about them-so-you-can-get-yourself-some generous!

So queue the Julie Andrews music and let’s get started!

softlips vanilla lip protectant/sunscreen

Softlips vanilla lip protectant/sunscreen.

I was introduced to this lip protectant when it was given to me in a gift bag. I immediately fell in love and started buying it in bulk. It has a light vanilla flavor with a bit of mentholatum tingle, and it provides plenty of hydration and sun protection without feeling sticky. As an added bonus, it comes in a slim tube that fits in even the smallest handbag.

Blue Diamond almonds lightly salted

Blue Diamond almonds lightly salted.

These almonds are my go-to crunchy salty snack. They are nutritious, filling, and delicious…with just the right amount of salt. That said, they are so good that free-ranging can be dangerous. If you lack self-control, like I do, I recommend measuring out a serving and stepping away from the bag.

Revitalash Advanced eyelash conditioner

Revitalash Advanced eyelash conditioner.

I can no longer recall how I was first introduced to this product, but I am so grateful. I had “blah” eyelashes, but couldn’t be bothered with the fuss of artificial eyelashes and wasn’t looking for the big lashes that are so popular now. Revitalash was the answer. I simply paint it on like eyeliner along my lash line each night and voilà my natural eyelashes grow longer and fuller. According to the Revitalash website, the serum actually makes the lashes stronger and more flexible; therefore, they reach greater lengths. Whatever it is, I’ll take it.

Ravensburger jigsaw puzzles

Collage of jigsaw puzzles.

One of the hobbies I’ve taken up since retiring is jigsaw puzzles. I’ve tried several different brands, and the Ravensburger puzzles are definitely my favorite. The designs are whimsical and colorful, and the construction is topnotch. The pieces are sturdy and fit nicely together. I never have that frustration of wondering if that piece really goes there or not…or having them bend when I try to take the puzzle apart.

CVG leggings

CVG-brand leggings.

Another favorite pastime of mine is working out, including Orangetheory Fitness, yoga, and hiking. After much trial and error, I found the perfect leggings for all of these activities. Again, I was introduced to this product when I was gifted a pair. (My friends and family have great taste.) These leggings are comfortable, attractive, and durable…and they have deep pockets. They are advertised as being squats-approved, which means they stay put and don’t turn see-through when you bend and stretch. As you can see from the photo above, they come in a large variety of colors and designs.

Your turn

That’s enough wonderfulness from me for one day. Now it’s your turn to share.

  1. Have you tried any of these products? What was your experience?
  2. Do you have any favorite things to share with us?
  3. Would you be interested in more Favorite Things posts in the future?

Scheduling note

Sunset over the ocean in Mazatlan.

One of my favorite vacation spots is Mazatlán, Mexico, and that is where you will find me for the next couple of weeks, so if you don’t hear from me for awhile, that’s why. I’ll be back in November!

  1. Hi Christie, I’d use the lip balm from your list as I am constantly in the sun. Almonds are always in my house, but aside from those, probably not the remainder. My leggings are boring, black, black, and black. I don’t do puzzles (yet), and I use a mascara from Channel that makes my lashes look long and thick. At least, that’s what I believe when I hand over the credit card. My favorite thing is my Go Walks by Skechers. I have them in black, navy, and beige, and never leave home without them. They are by far the most comfortable walking shoes I have ever worn, and they’re washable.

    1. Hello Suzanne. I definitely recommend the lip balm. If you give it a try, let me know what you think. I just checked out the Skechers Go Walk online. I just may have to give them a try. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I love favorite things! It’s so nice to get recommendations from people you trust. My friends and I have had a couple favorite things parties, and they are so much fun!
I’m always happy for new legging recommendations! And I haven’t tried softlips chapstick in a long time. I’ll have to give it another try.

    Some of my favorites lately:
1-ice roller that I use on my head/face/neck to help when I have migraines or anxiety.
    2-Laniege sleeping lip mask
    3-lume deodorant (weird, I know)

Thanks for the fun post! 😘

    1. Hello Liz! I hadn’t thought of a favorite things party. I love that idea. I definitely recommend the CVG leggings, if you are in the market…and even if you’re not! 😂 You piqued my interest with the ice roller. I’m going to have to check that out. And I just googled Lume deodorant, so I’m sure I’ll be seeing lots of ads for it on Facebook now. Does it leave white marks on your clothes? That’s one of my pet peeves. Thanks for sharing some of your favorites.

  3. I know I sound like a broken record, but we are so much alike! I love all of the things in this post, except CVG leggings. And that’s probably because I’ve never tried them. 😂 I keep saying I’m going to, so maybe this time I really will. Have fun and safe travels!! 😘

  4. We really like almonds, but I prefer them mixed with a variety of nuts or in a trail mix. And my husband is the puzzle guy around here, and Ravensburger is a favorite brand!

  5. I love reading what others are using, wearing or eating, Christie. My running friend has such an amazing and colourful leggings wardrobe which I am envious of – mainly because she looks like a gazelle when she runs and is tall and slim. Have a wonderful break. We are heading off for a River Cruise from Amsterdam to Basel in November which I’m really looking forward to. Enjoy your holiday x

  6. Hi Christie, isn’t it funny how when we find something we like we get it in bulk or in other colours? I’ve just found the perfect tshirt and am about to order more colours. I always enjoy positive posts so feel free to share your wonderfulness anytime 😊

    1. I agree, Debbie. I have a favorite t-shirt in two colors, and once I bought two pairs of the exact same black pants that fit well and were inexpensive, in case they weren’t available later. Wishing you a week that is full of your favorite things!

  7. I haven’t tried those things but I live on Tamari almonds and have a collection of leggings. Mine are no longer made, unfortunately, so when they die, I’ll maybe check these out….#WWandPics

    1. Hello Lydia. I hate when a brand or style that I love goes out of production. I was just telling Debbie that sometimes I buy multiples of something I really like just in case. I would definitely recommend the CVG leggings.

  8. I have that same lip balm in another scent (flavor?) and I love it! I hadn’t heard of that brand of leggings before but will definitely have to check them out.

    1. Now I’m curious, Joanne? What scent/flavor do you like? I’ve never tried any of the others. If you decide to purchase a pair of CVG leggings, I’d love to hear what you think.

  9. Hi Christie – you’ve sold me on the eyelash serum – I just ordered some to see if it helps my stumpy little eyelashes grow a bit longer. I had them tinted a while ago and was disappointed that they didn’t look any different – apparently eyelashes are less lush as you get older – and I’ll never be a false eyelash wearer. So, I’ll let you know how it goes x

    1. Hello Leanne. I definitely want to hear what you think. I hope you love it as much as I do. As I recall, when I first started using Revitalash, it took three-four weeks before I really started to notice a difference, but now I’m sold.
