Thank you notes from Mazatlán

It’s easy to get so caught up in the hustle of life that we forget to appreciate the small miracles that happen every day. I created the monthly Thank You Notes post to help me relive the happy moments, savor the gratitude, and share them with you. I hope they also inspire you to think about what you have to be grateful for and share them with us.

Of course, when you spend a couple of weeks in beautiful Mazatlán, it’s easy to be grateful. I hope reading this blog post won’t be too much like being forced to sit through someone’s vacation slideshow. (Did I just date myself with the slideshow reference?)

Anyway…without further ado…

Thank you Mazatlán for the tasty food and drink…

Breakfast on the beach.
Shrimp plate.
Shrimp tacos.
Pina colada.

And for the beautiful scenery…

Mexiquillo Park.
Mexiquillo water falls.
Stormy day at the ocean.
Sunset over the ocean in Mazatlan.

And for the Halloween shenanigans…

Your turn

That’s it for me this month. I’d love to hear what is making you smile or if there is someone to whom you’d like to say thanks. Please share in the comments!

  1. Christie, I love vacation photos, especially when they are as pretty as these. It always inspires me to do a little research for future travels. I have and will continue to say thanks to the staff at the Memory Care facility where my MIL now resides. It truly takes a village to look after our children and our elderly.

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed the photos, Suzanne. And amen to your statement about taking a village to care for vulnerable populations. The memory care staff was invaluable for my MIL as well.

    1. I did my best to whittle the photos down, Leanne, so they weren’t overwhelming, but still gave a true picture of how lovely it was. Since we live in a desert, being on the beach is always a treat for me. I hope you are having a pleasant week.

  2. Hi Christie, well firstly you’ve just given me a Geography lesson because I’d never heard of Mazatlan but Google tells me it’s a city in the Mexican state of Sinaloa (I’ve never heard of Sinaloa before either)! Anway your food photos had me salivating and the beautiful landscapes and scenery had me longing for another holiday myself to somewhere beautiful! I’m so glad you had a wonderful holiday (vacation). Thanks so much for linking up with #WWWhimsy Have a great week!

    1. We have friends that live in Mazatlán, Min, so we go regularly. Sinaloa sometimes gets a bad rap, but Mazatlán is lovely, and we’ve always felt safe there. Thank you for hosting #WWWhimsey!

  3. Loved the slideshow and the brief armchair (or rather desktop) adventure – it looks like you had an amazing time! I’m thankful for the wonderful friends in my life and now that I’m living closer to a lot of them, I’m super grateful for all the time we get to spend together.

  4. Lovely photos and it sounds like a lovely experience. I must admit that, for the first time in a long time, I am feeling a growing desire for the sun on my bones and some sand under my feet.
