Friday favorites: back at Hawkes Landing
I finally made it back to Hawkes Landing after a couple of weeks away. So, of course, my Friday Favorites are all about being back at Hawkes Landing.
I never get tired of the view from our deck, especially when the clouds turn a lovely pink behind the flag.
I got my first ride in the new (ish) Rhino side-by-side. It was a lot of fun.
Besides enjoying the ride itself, we got to see a lot of the surrounding area that we don’t make it to on foot. Everything is still so green.
Interspersed with delightful, unexpected splashes of color.
We came back to a cold Diet Coke on the deck.
And a visitor.
Who was apparently also looking for a cold drink.
Even the ride home was lovely, with an impressive view of the clouds.
And last, but not least, I just couldn’t resist this pic, which has nothing to do with Hawkes Landing. But hey, who doesn’t love seeing a cow getting dressed for work! 🙂
What did you do this week? Please share?
The photos felt like a mini vacation – until I saw the photo of the squirrel 🙂 – that brought back my kitchen nightmare!
xoxoxoxo
Ha ha! So far, he has stayed outside, but he’s definitely made himself at home with the bird feeder and Charlie’s water dish. At this point, we kind of like him, so he has free reign, but the first time he destroys something, my opinion may change. XOXO
Yes, keep him outside and you are safe!
I got to enjoy everything you did this week! ❌⭕️❌⭕️
Yes, you did–except the cow. Don’t forget the cow! 🙂 XOXO
This week was a busy one, building up to the beginning of the school year with a kaleidoscopic swirl of meetings, followed by classroom and content prep. The kids’ first day back was Thursday and being with them these last two days reminded me why we work so hard to make the beginning of school special…it’s because they are worth it.
Lucky kids. Lucky you. I bet they love you.
Stunning pictures! I love the cute squirrel.
Thanks Amy.
The Chick-Fil-A cow has a special place in our family’s combined hearts. My young nephew loved Chick-Fil-A chicken and called it ‘chicken leg’. When he contracted Wilm’s Tumor, the local Chick-Fil-A gave him all the chicken leg he could eat for free whenever he wanted it because it was the only thing that sounded good and he could keep down after chemo and radiation. He even made the news with the cow in Houston! I love that cow.
Lovely pictures from the landing. Glad you were able to enjoy time there after being out and about. Even the Diet Coke looks refreshing!
Thanks for sharing that story, Leslie. I love hearing about communities coming together to support each other.
Goodness! Who wouldn’t love it there? The photos are lovely and made me feel calm and relaxed. If I went, I might never leave. 🙂
Thanks Pam. It is hard to leave.
