Usually on Fridays, I share with you some of my favorites moments from the previous week. This Friday, I hope you’ll indulge me as I do something a little different. I’d like to share with you 15 of my favorite photos going back to 2009. These photos happen to be backed up to my computer,…
You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection. ~ Buddha It’s Valentine’s Day—the day we celebrate love and, therefore, a most fitting day to revisit the kindness challenge. A couple of weeks ago, we made a list of 10 kind acts we would do for others this winter. Today…
Where to begin with a week full of so much fabulousness? (Yes, that is a word.) Let’s start with spending the weekend with this bunch, including a pizza/popcorn/pumpkin pie/movie night. The first 50 degrees in a long time. (This was followed a few days later by the first 60 degree day!) I’ve been trying these new…
Now on to this week’s topic: Creating Your Best Life. It’s been a while since we’ve done any of the exercises from this book by Caroline Adams Miller and Dr. Michael B. Frisch, so I thought it was time. Do you have a goal you’re working on? Maybe you set a New Year’s Resolution, and…

We are now deep in the heart of Winter Blahs—the time of year when it’s easy to get the blues and difficult to get motivated. After years of scientific research (or possibly just…
Here we are at Friday again. It’s been a challenging week, but the thing I love about Friday Favorites is it reminds me to look for the good things–and there are always good things. In the words of Baloo, the bear from Jungle Book, “You’ve got to accentuate the positive; eliminate the negative.” How could you…
My favorite part about flying (besides arriving at my destination) is guilt-free, uninterrupted reading time. You may have noticed that my vacation posts are often followed by book recommendations. My recent trip to Mexico is no exception. This time the book is the award-winning Broken for You by Stephanie Kallos. As depressing as the title…
